Situation
We had previously worked very successfully for the company on a search assignment for the President & CEO to find a sales director who has since produced excellent results. The company is highly innovative and a world leader in its industry. It is enjoying strong growth and excellent results, and there are extremely positive expectations for future growth and profits with a revenue curve set to continue its steep climb in the coming years.

The company needed a person with a strategic mindset to join the Management Team, contributing, for example, to the development of the company’s new five-year strategy plan. The challenge for us was to identify really outstanding candidates with high-potential qualifications. The successful candidate would contribute to driving the company forward to a higher strategic and development level, enabling it to fully exploit its entire potential.

Search
As the company in the shorter term was planning to appoint a Deputy CEO, and because of a wish to find a suitable candidate inside the company who could join the Management Team on the basis of the ”let the best man win” principle, it was essential that the person who would be offered the position possessed the right qualifications. Our assignment was to attract the best candidates, and in order to ensure the best match between the candidate profile and the company’s plans for the future, the position was upgraded.

We focused our search on candidates with an M.Sc. in economics and/or an MBA, and with special competences in business development. The ideal profile was also a candidate who had or had had, a career in a highly respected international strategy consulting company. We were focused on the need for the person to have strategic strength and broad international management experience from manufacturing companies. Our assignment was to find a highly competent person with a successful career and the right qualifications and ambitions of both a personal and professional nature, both in the short and long term.

After an extremely intensive search process, we presented a number of highly qualified and extremely successful candidates who matched the demands.

Results
The company appointed an Executive Vice President who matched all the demands and expectations in the ideal profile. The person in question had an international career and, together with his theoretical and professional grounding, highly competent impression and good personality, this would add the right kind of drive to meet the future challenges of the organization.

The strategy plan was presented and approved by the company to its great satisfaction. The new Executive Vice President has fully matched expectations, and possesses the high-potential qualifications the company needs.
