Situation
Our client, whom we had served for many years, needed to enhance the competences of the board in one of the group companies. The company in question is a global player in the industrial machinery and technology industry. Known as one of the industry leaders in terms of both size and quality, the company has production facilities and sales offices in many countries. The company was a recent acquisition as part of a powerful future growth strategy that included further acquisitions, and the competences and resources of the board needed to be enhanced in good time.

The President of the Group wished to find someone with broad international experience in corporate management and with significant leadership skills and experience in the industry. The qualifications of the new member of the board would also include a highly international and business-oriented profile originating from manufacturing companies as well as considerable experience from project-oriented organizations. The person would also possess substantial and solid experience in international project sales of technical products.

Search
We focused our search on candidates with an engineering and commercial background as well as broad management experience particularly in Industrial Machinery. We looked for people with proven results, who had built a successful career via challenging management positions in different companies, and who had experience from industries matching that of our client.

The assignment was to attract a person who could contribute the necessary professional and personal resources on a general strategic level to the company board, and who would be a qualified sparring partner for the CEO in the future growth plan.
